HO-Scale Layout

HO-Scale Layout (Abandoned and disassembled)

I always find myself biting off more than I can chew.  When I decided to pick up model railroading again, and decided to model the Alaska Railroad, I promised myself I would start small.  I am starting with a simple, freelance 4' x 8' layout.  We'll see where it goes from there.

Campers have already moved in!

The train is coming!

POV

I have since abandoned this HO-Scale layout and opted to go with N-Scale.  I made the decision based on a couple factors: number one: my grandfather passed away and when he did, he left me all his model railroading stuff.  The vast majority of his collection was N-Scale.  With the addition of his collection to mine, I had far more N-scale gear than I had HO-scale.  This would make growing a layout much easier and cost conscious.  Second: space.  Certainly N-Scale takes up less space than HO (about half as much).  The switch to N-Scale would allow me to move my layout from the main room in the basement and into my home office.  The office would be more desirable for me as that's where my computer is; it's also easier to keep clean and warm.
